Symmetry Check utility
- [David] Another feature that you will find as part of the SolidWorks Utilities is the symmetry check. If we go up to the Evaluate tab and click on the Symmetry Check feature, we'll see that we can now check the symmetry along a single plane, two parallel faces or two points in any part. I'm going to use my right plane to separate this whole clamshell and do a check along the center of it. The unique faces are going to come up red, the symmetric faces are going to be green and the asymmetric faces are going to be yellow. Let's go ahead and click on Check to start that process. Now that it's done, we can see the results and as you would expect, along the top, where it looked symmetric, it's pretty good. We're getting all green faces. But down here, where the logo is on the screen, you can see that it isn't symmetric and we have some unique faces. Around the buttons as well, there's something going on where it's not quite balanced out. One of these buttons might be positioned slightly…
