The Swept Surface tool - SOLIDWORKS Tutorial
From the course: SOLIDWORKS: Surfacing
The Swept Surface tool
To create a Swept Surface, we'll need two basic ingredients. One is a profile, and the other is a path. This again is very similar to what we normally do in a Solid Sweep. In this case here, I have a sketch, and I want to create a plane at the very end of this sketch. And then I'll create a shape on there. So, a very easy way to do that is to choose the line itself, hold down 'Control' and choose the end point. Then come up to 'Reference Geometry' and click on 'Plane'. And what it does is it puts a plane directly at the very end of the line normal to the point. There it is. Click on 'Okay', and then I'm gonna use that plane there, to start a sketch. Notice I've been going up to 'Sketch' starting a sketch up here. But you can also very easily start a sketch by clicking on the plane, and going down here and starting a sketch. Once you have that, I'm gonna create another spline. This one's gonna be here. And it's just a little spline. And I'm gonna make it directly below the existing…
