Surface lofting the profiles
- Next we will focus on the extrusion of the three tubes. Go ahead and open file 01_03_Surface lofting the profiles start file. And then to recap from the previous video, we have created the required profile reference planes. And for the top and support tube I have created elliptical profiles and a square profile on the right side. You can use any profile design you want, but do make sure that the profile segments are the same number. For example, this ellipse has four segments, and the opposite square profile has four segments as well. And this will give you nice, clean extrusions with the expected face curvature behavior when the time comes. Now, let's start with the down tube. And first go ahead and hide sketch TTprofile2 so it does not get in the way of our selections. Now activate the lofted surface command. With the profile selection box active, and from the graphics view, we will first select the bottom profile. Take note of where I am selecting the edge. And then on the…
