SketchXpert

- [Instructor] In this example I'm going to show you how to use the SketchXpert. Now this is a really handy tool inside of SolidWorks. And whenever you have a sketch that has some issues like this one clearly does, it's got yellow lines, which are conflicts and you have red lines, which are unsolvables. So how do we fix this? Now you can go through and delete things on your own or you can use the SketchXpert. Now right down here notice there's a little red over define click on that and it'll automatically launch SketchXpert, here it is. And click on diagnose and it launches it and it's basically going to give us scenarios. It's going to delete or change different items in our sketch to get different possibilities, so here's option one of eight it's going to delete that little value there or actually that tangency relationship, my next option will be to get rid of this dimension here notice it's getting a little red hash on top of there showing that's what it's going to get rid of and you'll see how the sketch would change if you got rid of that dimension. Here's my next one here it's going to delete the 30 degree angle, next one over here's going to get rid of this coincident relationship and extend this out here. So you get a whole bunch of different options on how SolidWorks can change that sketch to make this work. So you can go through it and see which one's going to work for your situation and when you're happy with it, just go ahead and click on the Accept. So in this case here I want that version right there, let's go ahead and click on OK. It figures out what's going on here, that's the problem here so we'll again let's jump right back into there again say diagnose, right and here's the problem right so we're saying that's the problem so I want to accept the results and it's going to delete that so I can say accept and it goes ahead and just deleted that out, so then now we have a valid solution, click OK and now it's gone.
