Learn about switching between rigid and flexible assemblies.
- [Instructor] At some point in time on the exam,…you may be asked to add a subassembly…to your top level assembly,…and then move that subassembly…while it's in the top level assembly.…Now most of the time when you bring a subassembly…into a top level assembly,…it comes in in a fixed state.…And you can switch between a fixed and a flexible assembly…on that top level.…So let me show you how that works.…First things first.…Let's go ahead and take this assembly…and let me show you what it can do.…I've added a couple of different mates here…that allows these two little gripping hands…to kind of come in and out.…
So that's basically set up as a symmetric mate over here,…and then a limit distance mate.…So we want that same functionality on the top level.…Let's go ahead and bring this into my top level.…So I'm going to go up here to Window,…Tile Horizontally,…You can see here's my top level assembly.…Let's go ahead and just drag and drop that in.…And let's go ahead and open up the top level assembly.…Now let's go ahead and mate this hole right here…
