Reference triad

- [Instructor] In this movie let's talk about the reference triad. Now down here in the left corner of your screen you notice we've got this little triad. We've got the x, the y, and the z coordinates, and if you actually click on any one of those things, the model will rotate around so you're looking at that coordinate. Notice the z or the y, you can click on them. You can also hold down something like shift, and that'll rotate it by 90 degrees around there. Or if you want to hold down alt, it will allow you to rotate in 15 degree increments. So over here if I choose that one I can hold down alt and then just kind of rotate the model that way. And you can see a lot of things here. If I let go of that and hit z it spins around. If I hold down shift it'll rotate 90 degrees. So between shift, alt, and control, and just clicking on any one of those different directions you can get a lot of rotation out of your model very easily and it's very controlled. You have a very fixed increment of even 90 degrees or 15 degrees. And again, you can use the regular middle mouse button to spin it around, but sometimes if you have a big model, and it's going to be clunky or hard to work with, this reference triad will really help out.
