Join Gabriel Corbett for an in-depth discussion in this video Quick switching between lines and arcs, part of SOLIDWORKS Tips & Tricks.
- [Voiceover] Switching from lines to arcs…in SolidWorks sketches is very common,…and I have a few quick tips to make it a lot easier.…Traditionally, you'd go up here, choose the line command,…and start drawing a line.…Click once where you want it to start,…click again when you want it to end, and then you can see…that line will continue, and I can use some…of these helper lines to line up if I want it…to be co-linear or a specified angle,…and then when you've got a couple lines here,…you might want to switch over to the arc command.…So I can either hit Escape and get out of that command here,…go up to the tangent arc, and then choose…the end point here, and continue drawing my arc.…
Now it's going to continue to stay in that arc command…as long as I keep clicking, and if I want…to get out of that, go ahead and hit Escape to turn it off.…I can easily switch between the line and arc command…by going up to the ribbon bar here, or I can use something…like the shortcut bar by hitting the "s" on my keyboard,…or use mouse gestures and pick up a tool…
