- [Instructor] A post processor is really a translator…from what you see here on the screen to G-code…for whatever machine you happen to be using.…And there's, literally, thousands of different styles…or models of machines out there.…So you have to have a post for each one…or each style of those machines.…In fact, the same manufacturer of a machine…might have multiple types of posts…for the different styles or even age of the machine…you'll be working with.…Same thing with like 3-axis machines,…4-axis machines, 5-axis machines and beyond.…You need a special post for each one of those.…Now HSM does give us a pretty good library of posts already.…
So if we want to jump in there, go over here to select…these operations here, click on post process…and right up here we have a bunch of different options.…We can look at which folder we're looking in,…right so I can click on this one over here, open that up…and I can look in the post folder…or I can select a brand new post folder if I had one.…I don't currently have a new post folder…
