- [Instructor] So when we play the animation, make sure you're cognizant of how you saved it, whether you saved it as a AVI file or whatever. SOLIDWORKS will only save your file in AVI format. If you want to use MPV or WMV, you need one of the video editing software that allows export or conversion to that format. So when you're saving it, you need to be aware that, you may need to use video editing software to get where you want to go. Keeping in mind that AVI is one of the oldest video formats and it's really good when you're working off of a server or web browser. FLV is videos that are then coded by Adobe Flash, so they're using Flash Player which may or may not be going obsolete, so you may kind of consider that. YouTube uses FLV, Yahoo! Video, VEVO, Hulu, Myspace, so if those are where you are looking to distribute your video, that might be the format you wanna go for. WMV is basically, WMV is if you're distributing on a Microsoft based system but not on an Apple system. So…
