Learn about creating weld gaps.
- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to be looking…at placing weld gaps, or other gaps…at the intersection of different segments…of this weldment.…So as you can see here, I can open up this weldment,…and inside of there you can see I can add…a weld gap right in here.…So, I can add this right here.…So let's say, 0.25, and you can see…what that does, it automatically places a gap here…between the two segments, and that only applies…to this group number one.…Now, if you want to apply the same thing…to group number two,…you have to come over here and also add…that same weld gap there, which then…brings this back here and adds a little bit…of a weld gap you can see right there.…
It's kind of pushing that up that quarter inch.…Again, you have to make sure you choose…the correct group, and then add in that weld gap…between the items.…You can also click over here,…and click on that little pink or purple dot,…and you can actually add corner-specific weld gaps as well.…So, we only have one corner in this model here,…
Join Gabriel Corbett as he reviews the exam requirements, along with testing techniques and tips to make more effective use of your time. He refreshes your knowledge of fundamentals such as creating and saving weldment profiles, building sketches, trimming and extending weldments, applying corner treatments, and creating end caps and gussets. He also covers advanced weldment creation, profile alignment, and weldment cut lists. Last, but not least, he reviews questions from a sample exam and provides pointers for measuring parts correctly and verifying the unit system.
