- [Voiceover] Welcome to this series on modeling a bicycle frame with SOLIDWORKS. In this series I want to focus on only a couple, specific surfacing tools, being lofting and fold surfacing, along with a sweep, trim, and nut surface sinker mods. For our purposes, we will focus only on the front triangle of the bicycle frame, which will be sufficient to show how these tools work. We will look at the sketch requirements for the commands we will use.
Create the necessary profiles, along with the paths and then extrude these to get our basic tube shapes. With these in place, we will trim back the tube sections, so we can then use the Loft and Fold commands to create more aesthetically pleasing and even transitions, where all the tubes connect to each other. From there, we will merge and solidify all these faces and have our final result presented as a 1.2 millimeter tube.
Now that we know what we will achieve, let's get to it.
