- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to be working with sheet metal, and specifically, the equation that's automatically created for you which is called "thickness," when you create a sheet metal part. So if you look on the "Equations" folder right over here, in the feature manager, whenever you create a sheet metal part it automatically adds the equation folder, and inside there, automatically, you get this thickness value. And you can use that thickness like any other equation inside of SolidWorks; let me show you how. Click on a surface, go ahead and start a sketch on that surface, and let's go ahead and spin it around so we're looking at it. Let's go ahead and create a rectangle. Now, if I wanted to space this rectangle off the edge here, I can click on a dimension here from this surface here, or that line actually, to that edge, and then instead of typing in a value, I could say, and just hit the "equals" key, and click on "global variables," and notice I already have that…
