Filled Surface

- [Instructor] As always when working with surfaces in mesh bodies, we're going to be trying to convert surfaces and meshes into solid bodies. So here I've got a cylinder that's open on both ends and has a hole in the side of it. I'm going to try and use the Filled Surface feature to repair these holes and create a solid out of this geometry. Now, after activating the Filled Surface feature, the first thing you're prompted to do is select your patch boundary. So this is basically the extent of the hole you're trying to fill, or the gap you're trying to fill. I'm going to start with this hole in the side. I'm going to select the ring that follows the extent of the hole. Down below for Edge settings, we have a few options, Alternate Face, which basically just flips it. This controls the curvature, so right now we've got simply contact. And if we rotate around at the preview, we can see when we zoom in here that it's not quite following the profile of the cylinder.
