Designing the base component

- [Presenter] So let's get started by designing the base for our robotic arm. Notice here I am using millimeters, but you could use whatever units you'd like. And you can follow along with my design or create your own. So I'm going to start by sketching on maybe the top plane here, and I'll just create a new sketch, and just draw a rectangle. Maybe a center rectangle here. And throw in a few dimensions. I'm going to throw in maybe 180 millimeters. And 180 millimeters for the other dimension as well, or I can multi-select these two lines and, say, make equal. So now I have a square here. Again, make sure it's telling me it's fully defined here. My sketch is fully defined. And once I'm happy with that, I can extrude this sketch. Do whatever depth I'd like. Maybe in this case I'll choose about 10 millimeters here and say okay. And now I have the start of my base. And from here maybe I'll sketch directly on this top face of my new object. Create a new sketch. I'm just going to draw a…
