Creating ordinate dimensions - SOLIDWORKS Tutorial
From the course: SOLIDWORKS 2018 Essential Training
Creating ordinate dimensions
- [Instructor] In this movie, I have two different examples for you. And the first one is learning how to add an ordinate dimension to your drawing. So go under the smart dimension drop down and come down here to the horizontal ordinate dimension. Come this one here. And the first thing we need to choose is our base line. So go ahead and choose this edge right here on the far left, choose it as my base line. And then drag down where you want those dimensions to be. So click over here and now while you're in the ordinate command, anything you click on will automatically be added to the ordinate. So go ahead and choose maybe this top edge right here for that circle. Choose this hole right here. Choose maybe this hole over here. You can choose this arc right here. Any of these edges in here you can add as well. Another hole at the end of the part. Anything you want and you can add them in different orders so if you've already chosen the end of the part, you can go back and add this…
