Basic steps for 3D modeling

- There are six basic steps in creating pretty much every solid model. They are: selecting a face or plane. When we first get started, there's only three fundamental planes so you have to create a new plane or chose one of those. Starting a brand new sketch, drawing some geometry like circles, lines, arcs; as long as it has an enclosed boundary. It's always good to tie your sketches into the origin, so make sure you tie it into the origin and give it some dimensions. Finally, add some relationships if needed and then create the feature. It can be an extrude, it can be a revolve, it can be an extruded cut, and so on or any of the other major tools inside of SOLDWORKS. Let's go through step by step how to do this. With an open document, I'm going to click on a face or plane. So first things first, I'm going to chose the front plane, I'm going to start a sketch.
