For example, the cross-sectional tolerance…of an airplane wing, or an aluminum extrusion,…can be controlled with the line-profile control.…The surface-profile control can be applied…to any three-dimensional surface of a given shape.…It constrains how far the points on that surface can deviate…from the actual true surface, as defined in the CAD program.…
