Understanding table structure

- [Narrator] Table structure can affect how you can use your data in analyses. Let's take a look at these two small tables. The first one includes one row for each student and separate columns for math and reading test scores. This is referred to as a wide table because the measures, which are test scores in this case, are split into multiple columns. The second table includes multiple rows for each student with one row for each test score. There is a column indicating the subject and another for the score. This is called a narrow table because the measures or test scores are all stacked in a single column. Both tables include exactly the same information, but they're structured differently.
