- Okay, now we are moving on to pie charts. See how we have the code name '205_Pie Chart' open. And we are going to use PROC GCHART again, only this time, we are making pie charts. Now, I'm aware of the political argument going on out there, that pie charts are bad, and we should only use bar charts. Again, I'm not taking a side. I just tell people I teach pie charts because a lot of people's bosses request them. It looks better when you blame the bosses rather than the analysts, right? So let's pretend our boss didn't want the bar chart we did of DIABETE4, and wanted a pie chart instead. We use the command 'pie DIABETE4', and again, the option discrete. See here, I am setting some options that are easy to set. Value equals inside makes it so the value will be printed inside the slice. Percent equals inside means that we'll also get the percent printed inside the slice, too. What slice equals outside does, is put the value of the category of the slice outside of the slice.
