PROC TABULATE for continuous analysis
- [Instructor] Now we will use proc tabulate with our continuous dependent variable average hours of sleep per night to make a continuous descriptive table. You'll see that the table we make here is not in the exact same format as the table one we did in Excel but I wanted to show it to you because it ends up looking nice in proc tabulate. Please note I'm using exercise file 405_PROC TABULATE for continuous. Remember before you actually use the command proc tabulate, you have to some homework to do. First, you have to attach labels in a data step. As you see here, I'm copying the data set analytic to the data set example. And in the data step, I'm using the label command to label the variables. Remember SLEPTIM1 will be our columns because it is the dependent variable. That's why I put a little note hours per night on the label. Our next homework before using the proc tabulate command is doing a proc format command and creating formats for all the levels of the categorical variables…
