- [Lecturer] Now we are back in SAS with an open code file. Please look for this code file named 700_Add interaction to Linear Regression Model in your exercise files for this movie. Recognize this baby? I think I called it a puppy before. But anyway, this was the final linear regression model we made using PROC GLM way earlier in the course. To demonstrate interaction to you I tried to make a weak hypothesis so I could give you some sort of story. I said, what if being a smoker when you have diabetes ruins a person's sleep, or even, what if being a smoker when you have diabetes improves a person's sleep. That led me to see if there would be an interaction between DIABFLAG, our exposure and SMOKER which is on the last line of the model. Let's first run this model and look at the slopes for these two variables. Okay, the slope for DIABFLAG in the final model we developed is about 0.04. The slope for SMOKER is about -0.20, this means that being a smoker is associated with decreased…
