In this video, discover background on the course example and learn how to get SAP B1 for learning purposes.
- [Instructor] While you can passively watch this entire course, you'll learn a lot more if you play with what you have learned with a copy of SAP Business One and some data. If you are a part of an organization that has SAP Business One, you can either use the SBODEMOUS database I'll be using in this course or a sandbox of your own data. Talk to your system administrator or your support channel partner for more information about setting this up. If you're getting messages like this one, when you open SAP Business One for the first time, you'll need to create current posting periods. I'm not going to do that here. Talk to your accounting people about it, or you can check out the video on how to create posting periods in the SAP Business One Essential Training Course. If you do not have SAP Business One, SMB Solutions can arrange with you to have a 60-day free trial copy of SAP Business One. Contact them directly at https://www/.smbsolutions.com.au/linkedinlearning and mention this course. If you've taken any of my other courses, you may be familiar with the story we're following so far. If not, let's get you up to speed. We'll be looking at two businesses, OEC Computers and the Huli Pizza Company. Huli Pizza is a Hawaiian-based pizza operation started by a bunch of surfers. They're customers of OEC Computers, often buying tablets for their kiosk ordering system from OEC. Huli Pizza continues to expand and is now adding stores in the Midwest and expanding into their first West Coast stores, so there are some new prospects for OEC Computers. In this course, we'll be OEC, handling the sales leads and processing the orders, much like you may be doing in your organization. Before we do, let's get a little background.
