From the course: SAP SuccessFactors Performance and Goals Management

Performance management process overview

- [Instructor] In the previous units, you have already learned to configure the performance management form and its elements, such as rating scale, route map and goal plan. In this unit, you will learn how the performance form is used to evaluate performance. By now, you already have learned how competencies are assigned to a job role and how goals are set and achieved, both of which are essential elements of an appraisal form. The competencies, core and job-specific, as well as goals, personal, team and group are evaluated by an employee, him or herself, and then by his or her manager. The evaluation includes providing rating and comments on each of the performance elements. Typically, the process starts with launching an appraisal form, which can be created by an administrator, an employee, him or herself, or by his or her manager. The form is filled with appropriate rating and comments and is signed and completed. There could be different scenarios in which the form can move back and forth multiple times before an employee and manager agrees to the final evaluation. The demos in this unit show the process of launching form by admins, creating form by self or by manager, accessing all of the in-progress and completed forms, filling the form with rating and comments, which is similar in case of self-evaluation and manager's evaluation, and signing and completing the form.
