Performance and goals management solution overview

- [Instructor] In this unit, you will learn what makes up the Performance and Goals Management Solution. The main features of the Success Factors Solution are competencies management through which you can define what is expected from an employee on a specific job, goals management, which is used to define and manage goals, continuous performance management to record and manage performance on an ongoing basis, and performance management to evaluate one's performance over a specific period of time. Competencies which describe what is expected to perform the job are an essential element of a comprehensive performance management system. Success Factors Solution provides highly researched and behavior-focused competency libraries as repeat customers can use these to define core and job-specific competencies. Using the specific statements describing actions, attitudes, and skills, feedback on competencies can be easily provided. Performance detail is organized as needs improvement, meets expectations, and exceeds expectations. Each of the competencies can be used for self-assessment, to evaluate a subordinate's performance, or to provide feedback on other's work. You will learn later within the course how the competency libraries can be downloaded by customers and used to define job requirements. Like many other HR processes, the goals management is also very well supported by the Success Factors Solution. From providing goal plan templates to empowering customers to define and manage goals, the solution has a number of features. With a variety of options, goals can be created with different details such as its visibility and category. The users can also assign weight and dates to goals and can maintain status and percentage completion. The goal wizard, which is another great feature of the SAP product, takes users through the steps to create smart goals which means specific malleable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound goals. In addition to the personal manager can also create group and team goals. Depending on the authorizations, goals can also be assigned and cascaded. The course provides demos on each of the above features to help you with understanding how you can use Success Factors for your goals management process. Continuous performance management or CPM is one of the features of the Performance and Goals Management Solution within SAP Success Factors. It facilitates regular and productive conversations on how an employee can improve their performance. It allows employees to keep their managers informed on their progress in terms of achieving goals and managers to provide continuous coaching and feedback to their direct reports. Employees can record the activities and achievements to let managers have better visibility of their performance. Having the list of activities and achievements, employees and managers can have structured and meaningful discussions. Employees can link the activities they are performing to the goals they are assigned to, which aligns their work. Managers can provide timely feedback and coaching to help employees improve their performance. In the demo videos which are part of the course, you will learn how to enable, configure, and use the CPM feature of the Success Factors PMGM solution. The performance management process uses a form template downloaded from Success Tours. Along with the route maps and rating scales, it is configured and optimized for business use. Other elements of the form are competencies, core and job-specific, and goals, personal, team, and group goals. The end users, employees, and managers use it to evaluate their and subordinate's performance. Depending on how the workflow, also known as route map is configured, an employee evaluates his or her own performance first, before it is passed on to the manager. As the PMGM solution is well-integrated with HR and other SAP applications, with the appraisal results customers can make informed decisions on training and development and succession management processes. In the demo videos, you will see how performance management form can be downloaded and configured, as well as how it is used in the business context. In the next unit, you will learn about the roles involved in the process and resources available to implement the tools to support implementation, and steps to get the Success Factors Performance and Goals Management Solution running.
