Goals management

- [Instructor] In this unit, the basic configuration, you will learn how to download a goal plan template and to edit its structure. However, before viewing the demo, here's what you need to know. What are goals, goal plans and plan templates? What are the main elements of a goal plan template? How can it be accessed and configured? Which of its settings can be changed? How is it used by its end users? You have already learned in the previous lesson, within basic configuration unit, the difference between a competency and a goal. Here you will learn how a goal plan template helps users with setting goals. Goals are targets and tasks, which employees have to achieve within a specific period of time. Such goals are set through a goal plan. To ensure that the users use the goal plan in a particular way, goal plan templates are configured accordingly. The main element of a goal plan are goal categories and goal fields. The goal categories are used to classify goals, while the goal fields are used to record certain details on goals. The categories and fields provided in the standard goal plan template can be used directly, modified or even deleted if not required. Goal plan templates can be downloaded from Success Store and edited within the customer instance. Its settings can be configured through the Admin Center. The demo shows a step-by-step procedure on basic configuration of goal plan template. You will learn later in this course the goal setting process in detail.
