Find open quotes and sales orders

- [Instructor] In SAP Business One, open documents are active and editable. Closed documents are not. For the sales cycle, you open one document at a time, then close it, opening the next in the sequence. OEC did that by closing quotes and opening sales orders. If you need to look at open orders, there's two ways of finding them. So for example, you'll go into a document, for example, sales orders. So I'm going to go into here and go up to Sales Order in Sales, and I can go in here, and I can hit the find button up top and filter records. I can filter, for example, the name Huli, and I can pick on a status of Open or Opened - Printed, depending on what I'm looking for. I'm just going to Open here. And hit Return, and I'll get a list of the ones that I have available that I can now look at. And it gives me all my remarks and the due dates and the customer name, depending on what I'm looking for. The second method is to use the Open Items List, and you'll find that, I'm going to closed back up Sales and reopen it, down here under Sales Reports. And here you'll find something that says Open Items List, and that gives you a list of everything that's open. Right now, it's showing invoices. I'm interested in sales orders, so I can go here to Sales Orders and click on that. And there you go. You have all these sales orders. Now, this is in an order of, you can tell by the due date, it's probably in doc number order, which you can see here in the doc numbers. I'm going to want this in the opposite order, so I'll double click here, and that sorts it once, sorts it twice, going descending, and now I have the descending ones. And so our three orders are available here. I can see the PO numbers, which is very useful if you're trying to find one of these to reference it with a customer, and amounts and stuff like that, and the due dates and any other information you may have. You even get, on the bottom, some totals, which this is a little small, so let's go zoom this out so we can see 'em all. And so you get totals for the total amounts of open invoices, which is an awful lot in this company. Now, to open up an order, it's as simple as clicking the golden arrow. I'm going to go here and click the Indianapolis order, which is this one right here, the customer reference number 1011. So I can come over here to the document number and click the golden arrow, and up comes my sales order for the Indianapolis order. So many companies will use the open sales document as the first stage of a pick list, and then go from here into the delivery documents. Now let's look at those delivery documents.
