Rails as a JSON API

Rails as a JSON API: Ruby on Rails 5 New Features
Rails as a JSON API: Ruby on Rails 5 New Features

Ruby on Rails 5 allows applications to function exclusively as a JSON API backend. This allows client-side frameworks, such as JavaScript, Flash, iPhone, or other web applications, to access data and application logic. Configuring Rails to act as a JSON API leaves out large libraries of code which are not needed, while keeping key features such as RubyGems, generators, security, routing, caching, error handling, logging, and testing. Kevin demonstrates how to create a JSON API application and highlights the key differences.
