What is Kangaroo?
- [Instructor] In this video, we'll talk about what Kangaroo is. The Kangaroo plug-in is a live physics engine for Grasshopper, developed by Daniel Piker. The Kangaroo solver library and set of components are used in form finding, physic simulation, and geometric constraint solving. Kangaroo's great at simulating physical interactions to help find complex forms like tensile and catenary structures, and could even be extended to include additional forces like electrostatics. The kind of structural analysis that Kangaroo can really help out with when designing things like buildings or mechanical parts is traditionally done by engineers in a separate process from the design. What I think makes Kangaroo so amazing is that it lets you, the designer, have real-time feedback about the physical constraints and possibilities of your design.
