Join Dave Schultze for an in-depth discussion in this video Welcome, part of Rhino: Tips, Tricks & Techniques.
- Hello there. My name is Dave Schultze and I'm an industrial designer, 3D nerd, and educator. Welcome to Rhino tips, tricks, and techniques. In this course, we cover a random bunch of my favorite strategies. I use these everyday to work faster and smarter with my favorite 3D software Rhino. We start off by exploring my patented intersection technique. This simple process helps you create complex shapes more quickly and efficiently then any other way known to nerd kind. Is organic modeling at the top of your painful things to do list? Don't worry.
I'll show you how to make a mitten, an ugly shoe, and a super hero cape for your favorite penguin. In one video, we build a space helmet and then learn how to move seams out of your way. We then create some cool details right on the curving helmet. We even build on top of that pesky surface seam. Does 3D modeling make you want to leave town? We build a car wheel from scratch and then flow a detailed tread pattern around your tire geometry. Other videos include a cracked egg, a cheap ugly watch, and a wing building hack that has to be seen to be believed.
We'll cover all these topics and more as we kick off these series of random and mostly excellent 3D modeling strategies. You are now watching Rhino tips, tricks, and techniques. Let's get this thing started.
- Building and detailing a space helmet
- Making a flexible duct
- Building details on round pipes
- Modeling organic objects
- Using the SrfSeam command to move seams out of your way
