Sweeping and piping the shapes

- [Voiceover] Let's take a look now at shaping the surfaces for the body. Let's first start by going and looking at this prong curve here. I'm going to lock everything else, and zoom in from the front view. This bottom arm here is a little too long for the seat for the cabochon. You only need about a millimeter and a half to hold it for its seat, so to trim away what you don't need we can use reference curves for cutters. I'm going to go first to the Line tool, then I click to the end here and drag out towards the left and type in one and a half. Hold the Shift key so you're snapping to the ortho. Left-click and just drag down holding the Shift key again so you can create the cutter going down. So this is all we need to keep. So what I'm going to do is select both curves, run the Trim tool, and let's go ahead and get rid of this tail. I'm going to hold Control and deselect what we want to keep and delete, and there we go. The next thing I want to do is take our cabochon and lock it…
