Setting measurement units and tolerance

In this video we'll define the terms units and tolerance and explain their relationship. Unfortunately, some people start modelling and forget to check these two critical settings for a new project, or maybe just using someone else's files they don't think to check. You can then end up with serious accuracy problems later on. Sometimes these errors can be so intrinsic that the product needs to be remodeled with more appropriate settings. Yes, I'm sorry to tell you this, but sometimes you do need to start over. So I'll start off with units, these are very easy. These are basic measurements like inches or millimeters for product design. Feet or meters for larger scale projects. And they're listed here on the Tools > Options menu. Here are our units, right now we're in millimeters. But you have a wide variety of options here. Everything from the standard stuff to parsecs and light years, if you need it. Not sure why. And you can change those at any time. That means Rhino will ask you if…
