Modeling the base profile
- [Instructor] In the last video, we laid out a plan for using Grasshopper to make a parametric algorithm for designing a musical instrument. In this video, we'll tackle the first couple steps, getting user-defined dimensions and making the base profile. So in Rhino, I've got the file instrument-setup.3dm open and in Grasshopper, I'm working off the file 0010-instrument-setup.gh. So let's get these other steps out of the way here and let's just focus on these first two for now. So my user-defined dimensions, that's where I'm going to be setting up a bunch of sliders where I can basically adjust different measurements and dimensions that'll feed into the rest of my algorithm. So that's not a step that I'm going to finish in this video. That's something I'll keep adding to as I add the rest of the steps. And then making the base profile, that's essentially I'm going to be making a rounded rectangle shape. So if I were thinking of the way that I would design this just in Rhino, I would…
