Introducing solids
In this video we'll review the three different ways to create solid geometry. (UNKNOWN) calls these resulting object solids, but you may also be familiar with the term primitives from other 3D software. A heads up on the terminology. A solid created using solid commands results in a completely closed entity. But you can always make a solid by building it one curve or surface at a time. Just an overview here, we've got three ways to build a solid directly. We can use the curve, surface, and via the solid primitives. We'll build them in the reverse order that I recommended, and end up with the curves. Start off by zooming in on this, across here in the middle. I'm going to use the primitives, so this is under Solid Creation Tab. Here is the cylinder, but before I start, I want to make sure that my O snap is set correctly. I want to locate it right on the center there. So go down and check the O snaps to make sure Intersection is on. That'll be very helpful. Now we can start the Cylinder…
