Importing a SketchUp file
- [Instructor] In this lesson, we'll learn how to import and clean up a Sketchup file. Sketchup is one of the most commonly used programs for architectural design. An exported Sketchup file though can often have messy intersecting geometry. I'll show you how to clean this up though to make our design process later in the course as easy as possible. So the first thing that I want to do is make sure that my units for this file are in inches. So I'm going to type in units. Hit Enter. And I noticed that this is in feet , I'm going to change that to inches, and I'm going to change that to fractional. Hit Okay. And now I can import my file. So I'm going to type in import, hit Enter. In your exercise files, we'll navigate to chapter two, Importing. And we'll go to our Sketchup file, and here we have a Sketchupimport.dwg file. As a side note, you can't directly import a Sketchup file into Rhino, you have to export it…
