Working with layers and levels for import
- [Instructor] So what we're going to look at now in our 02_Simple Building Project.rvt file is bringing in our CAD drawing by importing it, but we're going to look at Layers and Levels. So, I'm going to go to the Insert tab on the ribbon, click on Import CAD in the Import panel, just like we've done in the previous videos, and I'm going to select my Ground Floor plan, like so. Now remember, colors, we leave it at black and white, Positioning, Auto-Origin to Origin, and make sure you're placing it at 00-Ground, which is the 00-Ground floor plan in the Revit model. Now what we're going to do, is we're going to look at the Layers and Levels here. Now you've got three choices, All, Visible, or Specify. If I select All, that will bring in all of the Layers, all Levels, in our CAD drawing. Now be aware that the word Levels here is the same as Layers. It's not the datum levels that you use in Revit. Some CAD packages use the word Levels for Layers, if you get my drift. If you use AutoCAD…
