- [Instructor] In our last video, we were a victim of value engineering and we had to swap out our really nice detailed bracket with something much simpler and less costly. But perhaps we've had some conversations with the client and with our supervisors here and we've convinced them to consider keeping the detailed bracket on the table, and maybe getting a bid for both. So one option would be to do a Save As on the family and just have two versions of the family, and you could easily swap between the two. But it turns out there's actually a way to do this directly in the parent family file. There's a special kind of parameter called a Family Types parameter. And you can use that to allow the parent family to choose among the available types for any of the nested subfamilies within that family.
