Using snaps
- [Instructor] In this video I want to talk about snaps. Now we have two kinds of snapping behavior that I want to focus on, increment snapping and object snapping. With increment snapping you designate certain distances and then the cursor will automatically snap to multiples of that distance. And with object snapping, the cursor is on the lookout for certain geometric points on existing geometry. Things like endpoints, midpoints, centers, and so on. So let's start with increment snapping. Increment snapping is tied to the zoom level in the view. So what I'm going to do is zoom out a little bit here so I can demonstrate it for you. So I'm going to do z, o, which is the keyboard shortcut for zoom out two times. So if you prefer you can get it over here on the navigation bar. Now snapping works with any geometry, but I'm going to just draw some simple walls. So I'm going to run the wall command or you can type w, a. And then up here in the upper left-hand corner in this empty space…
