Using reference lines to control rotation
- [Instructor] In this in the next few videos we're going to create a custom door family. Now, I'm going to focus just on rotation within this family. So, it's often necessary to create an element that rotates when you're building family content and there's a few different approaches you can take to rotation. So, I'd like to share with you a somewhat novel way to rotate that I've become quite fond of. There are a few other ways to do it. So, this is not an exhaustive study of rotation in the family editor but should give you a nice solution that you can use in many circumstances. So, to get started I'm actually going to create a brand new empty door family. So, I'll click the new button here and I'm working an Imperial so I'm going to choose the door template. If you'd prefer to work in Metric, you can use the Metric door template. So, when this template loads, we'll be in a floor plan and we've got a wall of course…
