- [Instructor] I was working on a project recently that had some custom roofs that used metal standing seam roof material, and I was looking for a easy way to model that. And I didn't wanna get too carried away. I didn't wanna build custom families or start building a whole lot of special components and so forth. So I was looking for something that was just out of the box that I could do quickly that would make it look like a standing seam metal roof. And it occurred to me that I might be able to actually do it just using the fascia tool. So let's start with what exactly the fascia tool is first of all. It is designed to create fascia boards along the edges of your roof. So if we go to the dropdown here for the roof command and choose roof fascia, there will be a type selector choice here, and at the moment I only have one choice, a one by 12 fascia board.
