Using constraints
- [Narrator] We've discussed a lot of smart behaviors that Revit employs as you're working, but there's actually behaviors that we can build directly into our model to enhance things even further, we call these constraints. So, Revit tries really hard to line things up or to make things match one another. But if we choose a particular relationship that's important to us that we want to sort of lock in that design intent, then we can build a constraint. So, I'd like to show you several ways that we can do that. First thing I'm going to do is zoom in up here at the top of my plan in this break room area. And let's do a really simple example. Let's say that I want this door to maintain a certain distance off of this column. So, I'm going to select that door and we'll see the usual display of temporary dimensions. Now, remember that the temporary dimensions are going to favor things like walls, so it didn't automatically sense…
