Using constraints
- [Instructor] Revit's always creating relationships and behaviors for us, and there are several instances where we can actually create our own constraints. Now, constraints are like building a rule into the model that helps us maintain our design intent. And so, what I'd like to do in this video is just show you several different examples of constraints. So, I'm going to start off up here on the right-hand side of the plan, and let's just consider this door right here. Maybe, I want to maintain the distance of that door to the column line that's nearby. At the moment, if you were to move this column line, it has no impact on the door, so I'm going to undo that. So, what I'm going to do is create a dimension using the Aligned Dimension tool, and I'm going to pull it from the Quick Access Toolbar here, or you can type the keyboard shortcut d + i.
