Using arrays to parametrically duplicate objects
- [Lecturer] So I want to continue working on our stair landing detail here and I want to focus on this stair pan element that we brought in to represent the individual treads. And what I want to do is duplicate it down the stairs but I don't want to do that manually. I want to take advantage of a tool called Array. Now the Array tool is on the Modify tab, and it allows you to make a series of copies of elements but it's got this really neat feature with it that it is able to remain parametric. So what that means is you'll be able to make adjustments to the settings that you used in the Array command even after you're finished, and those adjustments will then apply to the entire array. So to demonstrate that I'll simply select the stair pan element here and go to the Array button. Now on the Options bar that will display a bunch of options. So there are two kinds of array: we can do a linear array or a radial array. We're going to leave ours set to linear. Next to that is the Group…
