- [Instructor] In this video I want to talk to you about using custom subcategories for Reference Planes. Now this feature's been in Revit for a few releases now, and it allows you to add subcategories for Reference Planes to kind of create different classes of Reference Planes for various purposes. So in this video what I'm going to do is actually create some Reference Planes that I'm going to use as these borders around details. So if I zoom in a little bit here on this sheet I've got something that's fairly common, in a lot of firms, they create a sheet full of details and I only have three here but you can imagine this whole sheet covered with details. And they like to have these sort of border lines around the details. Now if you look carefully you can kinda see that there's these green dashed lines, superimposed on the black edges there. So if I go to the File menu and go to Print Preview you can see it a little bit more cleanly. Okay so notice that those black outlines are only…
