- [Instructor] In this video, I want to talk about file versions. Now as you may be aware, when you're working with Revit, each version of Revit creates a unique file format. So if you've got a 2015 Revit file and you try to open it in an older version, it won't work, and if you open it in a newer version, like 2016 or 2017, it upgrades the file, and then of course if you saved that file, you've permanently upgraded it and it will no longer work in 2015. So that's sort of standard practice, it's been that way ever since the beginning of Revit. When we are working with Cloud-based Revit models in C4R, there's an additional wrinkle to the concept of file format, so we still at the same issue with file formats but what happens now is when you upload your Cloud-based model initially, that first Cloud-based model actually sets the version of the project in BIM 360 Team, so I'm in a hub right now, J Vespas, and it contains two projects, Public Works and KinetECO.
