Upgrading to new versions of Revit

- So you've spent months developing your office-standard template and got everything just the way you want it. Just in time for the new release of the software. Now what? Well, you could simply upgrade the template and carry it forward to the new version. However, in this movie we'll talk about some of the issues that might come up when attempting to do that. So, as you maybe aware every release of Revit is a brand new file format. So that's really what the issue is. So, your brand new office-standard template is going to have a lifespan of one Revit release. Now yes, it is possible to just simply open your template file in the new release and you'll get that one-time upgrade process dialogue box that appears and it will let you know that it's upgrading your template to the latest release. Most of the time that will work perfectly fine. Depending on how big your template is it can take a little while but it's one-time operation. There are a few cases where that may not work so well…
