Understanding subcategories

- [Instructor] In this video, I want to talk about subcategories. Now, subcategories can be a very powerful tool, but if not used carefully, they can also be somewhat problematic. So, I want to go ahead and discuss the tool in general terms, give you a sense of how they can be used, but then I also want to caution you to use them carefully and wisely. So, what exactly is a subcategory? Well, as it's name implies, it is a sub-grouping of a larger category. And the main purpose of subcategories is for you to create a collection of visual settings that you want applied consistently across multiple families within that category. Now the easiest way to understand what subcategories are and how they behave, is to just show you an example.
