Understanding architectural columns and pilasters

- [Instructor] This week and next week, I want to talk about architectural columns in pilasters. So the architectural column tool has been in Revit for a very long time, and it has this really wonderful feature, where it automatically will merge into the surrounding wall geometry. So what it's doing is actually just performing a join geometry function anytime it touches a wall. So to demonstrate, I've got a simple wall here, and I'll go to the Column drop down, choose Column Architectural, just going to accept the default column here. And I'll just click anywhere near that wall. And it's that simple and it automatically merges in. Doesn't matter what side I pick, or even if I pick it down the middle, it will merge in all of those locations. Now, it also doesn't matter what shape the column is. So it could be a square column like this, or I could go to load family and in the columns folder, which is in my default library…
