Transparent material

- [Instructor] In this video, we're going to look at the difference between transparency and translucency when it comes to render appearances, by creating and adding a transparent material and a translucent material in our scene. Let's get started. Open the 02_07 exercise file. If you check your project browser, it should be in 3D view 02_07. In this scene, I've modeled a table, with divider panels in the center. I've added instance parameters to control to left and the right panel. The left panel, we're going to apply a translucent material. And the right panel, we're going to apply a transparent material. Then we're going to look at the difference. I select the family, in the instance properties, under transparent material, select where it says By Category, click the three dots to add a new material.
