- Hello, my name is Paul F. Aubin, and welcome to Creating Revit Templates: System Settings. If you're like most firms, you probably want to introduce your office standards into the template files that you use to create your Revit projects. In this course we'll focus on the system settings and the system families that are a part of every Revit project file. We'll look at the file origin, and I'll show you how you can move the origin to match your desired location. We'll discuss how you can customize your material library, and look at the various naming conventions that you can use for such system families like wall types, floor types, and roof types.
We'll talk about loading, profile families, and which object types use profiles, and we'll even look at pre-configuring the location of your projects and the sun settings so that you can do shadow studies within your project files. So if you're ready to begin incorporating all of the various system and overall settings into your office standard template files, you've come to the right place. Let's get started.
