Rediscover the Activate Dimensions feature

- This week, I want to go back to basics and show you one of my favorite tools in Revit, and that is the Activate Dimensions tool. Now, what this tool does is it solves a default problem related to a default behavior in Revit. When you select a single element, it doesn't really matter what you select, by default, you will get a series of editable temporary dimensions that will appear on screen. Now these are very useful to be able to move the objects, and I'm sure you use them all the time in Revit. When you select more than one element, so let me just go ahead and zoom in here and select a second object with my control key, those temporary dimensions will disappear. So, if you don't know about Activate Dimensions, then you're relegated to using other methods to move these two objects together, or you would deselect and move them one at a time, and neither of which is very efficient.
